Sound Effects

The Library consists of many sound effects specifically made for Film and Theatre productions. The original recording equipment was a Sony F1 with a variety of microphones Exterior Audio-Technica AT822, AKG C451's, Interior Neumann U87 Condenser Mic.
Later we used Sony Dat machines (more portable). Rycote Windshield Kits. No EQ was used on location recordings.All recordings were mastered in the studios and kept in the digital format as much as possible.
A lot of the electronic effects were done by Tony Frossard who studied Electronic Music with Daphne Oram (One of the founders of the BBC Radiophonic Workshop)
Some of the effects are unique for instance recordings aboard HMS Coventry on Nato exercise and Battle scenes of the Irish Cavalry in full regalia with Muskets and Cannon.
With DAW (digital audio work stations) now so plentiful the sound effect can now be tailored.
In the early days looking for a door close for example one needed many door effects to find the one that matched the picture now with time stretch and pitch change so readily available it is a lot easier to make.
We have a lot more sound effects that we will release early next year when they have been re-Mastered.
